Track Bias – Qualifying

A driver’s qualifying track bias is calculated as their average qualifying result on a given track less their average career qualifying result. A negative track bias indicates the driver has historically performed better on this track than at other tracks.

Bear in mind that the statistic may not be statistically significant. The longer the driver’s career and the more races at that particular track the more confidence we can have that track bias provides useful information about the driver’s relative ability on this track. Generally the track bias will be shown in conjunction with the number of race starts the driver has had, both over their career and at the track in question.
